University of North Texas - Recruiting Specialist I
The Division of Enrollment Management at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Recruiting Specialist I to join our team. This administrative and professional position focuses primarily on the recruitment of prospective freshman and transfer with targeted recruitment of College of Visual Arts and Design (CVAD) students to the University of North Texas. Work principally involves statewide travel, counseling of prospective students and guidance of applicants through the admissions process. In addition, this position will assist in recruitment networking efforts with business and industry, churches and civic leaders in DFW and in other admission and student recruiting functions of the Office of Admissions. This position will participate in on-campus and external events directly related to UNT admission and recruitment efforts, including events specifically designed for CVAD prospective students. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: * Participate in the recruitment of undergraduate students, including contact with high school art teachers, through travel to high school and community college day/night programs throughout Texas. In addition this position will participate in the recruitment of students via the phone, e-mail and visits on campus. * Provide information to prospective students and parents, including specifically Visual Arts and Design students and parents, on opportunities offered at UNT. * Coordinate visits for Visual Arts and Design students and meet with those students while they are on campus. * Provide follow-up communication with Visual Arts and Design students and parents. * Organize recruiting events in the College of Visual Arts and Design. * Organize building tours and manage CVAD tour guides for prospective Visual Arts and Design students. * Evaluate academic credentials of freshman and transfer students in order to determine eligibility of applicants in accordance with official university admissions policies, state guidelines (Texas Education Code), etc. * Explain admissions and university life to students and parents, particularly in relation to the College of Visual Arts and Design. * Become thoroughly knowledgeable of degree programs and services at UNT. Keep updated on current information about academic programs and related student services, opportunities, etc. * Through work efforts, increase prospects, applicants and enrolled students majoring in CVAD programs. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree and one year of experience in recruiting, academic advising, counseling, student services, or related experience.
