University of North Texas - Educational Audiologist
* This posting is an hourly position and is non-benefits eligible.The Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Hourly-Educational Audiologist to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:* Providing audiology support services for students with auditory impairment (AI) or other special education disability codes.* Performing assistive technology evaluations/recommendations for students with AI or other disability codes.* Educating classroom teachers and other educational personnel regarding children's hearing abilities/disability, personal hearing aids/cochlear implants, and district-purchased hearing technology.* Recommending, ordering, issuing, fitting, calibrating, and maintaining digital and FM systems for students including record keeping of equipment issued to students, logs of equipment, etc.* Participation in admission, review, dismissal meetings, as requested by the district.* Completing all record keeping as required by the district, including reports of student's audiological assessments, timekeeping, billing, etc.* Maintain contract with district during non-coverage days (through email, phone messages) to answer questions, troubleshoot equipment, or provide consultation.* Traveling to campuses within district to provide services as indicated.* Providing hearing screenings for children undergoing special education evaluations, as needed.* Making recommendations for referral of students for otological and/or audiological evaluations* Troubleshooting personal hearing aids and cochlear implants The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices. The successful candidate will possess a Master's degree in Audiology and a current license to practice in the State of Texas. Must also have reliable transportation to travel to contract locations./schools.
