The vision of the College of Education at Kansas State University is preparing educators to be knowledgeable, ethical, caring decision makers for a diverse and changing world. This position, along with all positions in the College of Education, is directly responsible for advancing this vision and that of the Department of Educational Leadership.
The Department of Educational Leadership is one of three departments in the College of Education. The department provides graduate-level programs in Educational Leadership and in Adult Learning & Leadership. The successful candidate for this position will be a member of the Faculty of Educational Leadership and will support the MS and Ed.D degree programs, along with professional license programs, in educational leadership.
The Faculty of Educational Leadership partners with public school districts and other selected educational entities throughout Kansas and the region to deliver an intensive field-based masters-level leadership academy model for preparing administrative and teacher leaders for P-12 and extended settings. The Faculty also conducts campus-based doctoral-level programming and field-based collaborative doctoral cohorts at various locations.Diversity and Inclusion: Kansas State University embraces diversity, and promotes inclusion in every sector of the institution. The Successful Candidate will: The successful candidate will be assigned to support both on-campus and off-campus programs, including on-ground and distance-learning formats, and will be expected to provide key leadership in creating new programming and establishing new partnerships with school districts and other select agencies. A major responsibility will include developing and managing degree-granting partnerships with targeted audiences especially to include Indigenous and other selected populations. In addition, the successful candidate will be required to carry out a program of scholarly research and service appropriate to a Research I land-grant university. Required Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate must hold an earned doctorate in an educational leadership field from a regionally accredited university; have recent significant experience in a higher education instructional setting; and have experience in working with populations of diverse learners.Preferred Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have experience in developing and using teaching-related technology; have experience assisting/ teaching core and advanced graduate-level courses in a subspecialty area in the field of educational leadership; have recent experience assisting in developing innovative graduate-level programs for educators that includes designing, leading, and assisting in delivery of academy-like coursework in targeted settings including Indigenous and tribal settings.; have experience developing distance courses; have credentials supporting ability to immediately teach graduate-level qualitative research methods courses; have a record of demonstrated success in both P-12 and higher education roles; and hold scholarly credentials sufficient for immediate appointment to the graduate faculty at Kansas State University.Special Instructions to Applicants: Qualified candidates should submit the following documents: a cover letter describing how their educational background and professional experience meet the required and preferred qualifications for the position; a full curriculum vitae; official university transcripts indicating highest degree held; a list of at least three references including names, surface and e-mail addresses, and phone numbers; and three letters of reference from individuals listed who can speak to the specifics of the job description.
