TRANSFER CREDIT REPRESENTATIVE
Columbus State University has an opening for a Transfer Credit Representative in the Office of the Registrar. This position reports to the University Registrar and will receive daily work assignments from the Assistant and Associate Registrar. The successful candidate will specialize in transfer credit and readmission functions.
The selected candidate will process accurate transfer credit evaluations for all new students within established deadlines; provide professional and timely responses on inquiries regarding transfer credits; provide data entry of transcript coursework; process applications for former students seeking re-admission; conduct information sessions for transfer students during New Student Orientation and Discovery Days; reviews transfer credit from non-accredited institutions at applicant’s request; meets with transfer prospects, applicants, and students to answer questions regarding transcripts; makes determinations on course applicability to degree requirements; discusses degree completion options and interpret core requirements for each major with transfer prospects and applicants; coordinates appeal processes for excluded students; evaluates Joint Services Transcripts for service members on active duty and former service members; works with student soldiers to produce military degree completion plans required by the commanding officer; processes Certificates of Acceptance for student soldiers; prepares transient letters for Columbus State University students; works collaboratively with the Enrollment Management staff to provide assistance to the Enrollment Service Center; works as part of the Office of the Registrar to support various events and activities; updates departmental webpage(s) and catalog with appropriate course equivalencies and transfer information; and all other related duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university; or two years of college and two or more years of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. The selected candidate must possess the ability to cultivate a working knowledge of transfer equivalencies and accreditation of institutions and the rules, regulations, and laws pertaining to student records under FERPA; possess a working knowledge of the Banner Student Information System; possess the ability to prioritize tasks and work with minimal supervision for completion of tasks. The successful candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, a strong customer service focus, and the ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, parents, and prospective students. The selected candidate must also possess a strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Preferred qualifications include two years’ experience working in an admission/registrar office within a post-secondary institution and knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Access.
The salary is commensurate with education and experience.
