The Admissions Advisor is a support position responsible to the Admissions Manager. The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct outreach to prospective new adult students and assist them with the getting started process as part of a case management approach. This position works closely with college staff and faculty to implement effective recruitment strategies and follow up with referrals.
Build relationships and conduct outreach with local business, corporations, and community agencies to identify potential students and develop recruitment activities.
Coordinate with Workforce Development, Career and Technical Education, Career Services and other areas of the college to provide follow up case management for referrals.
Create and maintain prospective student information in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system focusing on assigned case management of new nontraditional and transfer students.
Maintain regular communication with designated prospects, such as phone calls and emails, as determined by the CRM.
Work with prospective students to determine if they may be eligible to receive prior learning credit.
Make frequent presentations to groups of prospective students to inform and educate them as to the educational opportunities available at Waubonsee.
Develop and foster relationships with students and families through on-campus recruiting activities and events.
Refer students to support programs and services that can assist with helping them be successful at the college.
Take walk-in and scheduled admissions appointments with new students and help them get started at the college.
Perform first-semester advising and assist new students with registering for courses.
Maintain general knowledge of college activities, programs and requirements with the ability to refer inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
Advise and conduct campus tours for prospective students and their families and inform them of educational opportunities available at Waubonsee.
Assist with the implementation of the annual student orientation program and other campus visit programs as required.
Coordinate with other college departments in the planning and implementation of recruitment strategies and events.
Assist with the department's direct mail and tele-counseling activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in related field required.
Minimum two years related experience in the education field, including work with minority and/or adult populations.
Excellent communication, organizational and human relations skills.
Familiarity with Power-Point, Microsoft Office, data entry for updating student records and other student service/computer software.
Valid Illinois Driver's License.
Ability to travel between sites within the college district.
Spanish/English bilingual ability a plus.
Ability to work one evening per week on walk-in advising and occasional evenings and weekends as required.
