Job Title: Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction (Managing Assistant Director 1)

 

Job Summary:

The Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction will provide leadership to assure curriculum and instruction support the mission and purpose of the A. Harry Moore School and will participate with the school administrative team to develop and implement school goals, policies and procedures.

Duties:  The Duties of Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction shall include but not limited to:

Oversee the ongoing development and implementation of a curriculum that supports IEP goals and is aligned with the New Jersey Core Content Curriculum Standards

  • Evaluation of lesson plans
  • Evaluation and recommendations of current curricula’s for various educational levels

 Coordinate implementation of statewide testing mandates

 Oversee IEP development and progress reporting

  • Evaluation of IEP goals and objectives
  • Participation at IEP meetings
  • Management of progress reporting

 Participate in program planning and development

  • Recommend goals, policies and procedures which promote excellence
  • Provide assessment of program and policy
  • Reorganization of school each year: class placement, program changes, and personnel changes
  • Establish class and therapeutic schedules

 Participate in admission process

  • Review available educational information and makes individual and program recommendations

 Administers and interprets applicable federal and state laws and regulations

 Provide support to personnel to promote effective instruction and program implementation

  • Evaluate teachers and consult in development of professional development plans
  • Mentor new faculty
  • Guide and support tenured teachers
  • Coordinate professional development opportunities and resources

 Work cooperatively with NJCU faculty to promote the Laboratory School relationship

  • Provide support to pre-service teachers
  • Participate on ad hoc NJCU committees

Promote collegial relationships and facilitate a transdisciplinary model

  • Attend appropriate meetings, conferences, and workshops
  • Participate in interviews of perspective personnel
  • Coordinate and participate in team meetings

Represents and acts for the Assistant Principal and/or Principal as directed
