Job description

Duties: Reporting to the Executive Director of Development, the Director of Annual Giving is responsible for planning and executing all aspects of Penn Engineering's Annual Giving Program. S/he will oversee direct mail solicitations, e-mail appeals, and the calling program. The Director will compile and analyze gift data, set goals and recommend strategies to increase Engineering annual giving participation and dollars. The Director will be expected to conduct a minimum of 30 face to face donor visits to cultivate, solicit and strengthen relationships with alumni and friends of Penn Engineering. S/he will serve as the staff liaison to Engineering Alumni Society (EAS) and work with EAS on alumni activities, including Homecoming, Alumni Weekend, Senior Design as well as other projects. The Director will organize and attend EAS meetings; maintain the calendar of alumni & EAS activities; work in collaboration with major gifts and communications staff; represent School at alumni gatherings; and help update and maintain the Penn Engineering Alumni Relations and Development web page. ATLAS training and list management skills are required.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in related field is required and 3 years to 5 years of development related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in direct mail solicitations & volunteer involvement or an equivalent combination of education and experience; knowledge of professional fundraising principles, concepts and techniques; demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to plan, organize & coordinate fund-raising programs, preferably within University setting; ability to work independently and collaboratively with others; valid driver's license; travel and evening/weekend work required.
