Department Overview
The Office of Outreach leads college awareness and targeted recruitment initiatives to impact enrollment of underrepresented students. The Office of Outreach is a component of UNT Admissions and resides in the Division of Enrollment, Outreach coordinates, and develops strategic alliances with schools and community leaders to recruit quality and diverse students. The Office of Admissions is a vital contributor to the enrollment success at the University of North Texas through student outreach, recruitment endeavors and commitment to providing personalized assistance to students throughout the college application and admissions process.

Job Description
The Office of Outreach at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Recruiting Specialist I to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

* Welcome visitors to the Mexican Consulate in Dallas on behalf of the Ventanilla de Educacion, and guide, advise and direct them to educational opportunities for them and their families in North Texas.
* Establish and Maintain links with organizations in North Texas to involve them in activities of the "Ventanilla de Educacion" Organize and implement educational activities for the Ventanilla de Educacion.
* Provide support in the organization and implementation of meetings and activities of the External Boards of Advisors.
* Prepare monthly calendar or activities and provide monthly and quarterly reports of activities and details of results of such activities.
* Assist Office of Outreach with recruitment and outreach initiatives throughout the DFW Metroplex.
* Ability to speak, write and communicate fluently in Spanish.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree and one year of experience in recruiting, academic advising, counseling, student services, or related experience.

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:
* Considerable knowledge of University policies and procedures related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate).
* Knowledge of Texas rules and regulations related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate).
* Strong presentation skills.
* Strong problem solving skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations verbally and in writing.
* Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
* Ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Able to discuss college admissions processes, opportunities available at
community and four year schools.
* Knowledge of UNT's majors and admissions requirement preferred.
* A basic knowledge of Mexico's education system would be helpful.
