Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

The Associate Director of Communications Services leads a dynamic team of creative professionals to tell the University brand story and enhance our reputation by engaging audiences across multiple platforms of digital and print. This dynamic leader must maintain productive relationships with key members in the Office of Communications and Public Affairs in order to foster a synergistic approach to managing all of the University of South Carolina's communications needs. The ability to support the creative communications needs of clients is essential, while coordinating an agency style production schedule.

The Associate Director of Communications Services has a passion for creative, engaging storytelling, through digital, including web and social media, and print mediums.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Master's degree in communications or related field and 4 years public relations experience in an administrative capacity, or bachelor's degree and 6 years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

The employee must possess a strong understanding of brand identity guideline management, along with the ability to effectively communicate it through various media options. The employee must be able to professionally handle working with clients, co-workers, direct report employees, management, and vendors. S/he has a strong command of the proper development of graphic files used in either digital media or in print production. S/he will have the ability to develop web conversion projects. The employee must also have the ability to create compelling and interesting copy. The employee should have a fundamental understating of photography and videography processes to achieve the desired results.
