Advertised Job Summary
Under the guidance of the Principal Investigator the applicant will perform research on laboratory research models associated with tumor immunology, inflammation, and cancer. Research will be aimed at determining the mechanistic role of inflammation-associated molecules in growth and development of cancer as well as examining the preventative and therapeutic efficacy of plant products. Maintains accurate and detailed records of laboratory experiments, presents findings in laboratory discussions, meetings, scientific symposia, and writes scientific manuscripts for publications. Routinely advises principal investigator, students, and lab personnel on current methods, ongoing experiments, and future research directions.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
Requires a PhD in Cancer Immunology, Cancer Biology, Molecular/Cell Biology or other related field of biomedical sciences.Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
The applicant should be self-motivated, able to design and conduct experiments, prepare and present their work at meetings, and write scientific manuscripts. Should have knowledge of hazards of laboratory activities and related safety practices, skill in setting up, care and use of laboratory equipment, and ability to develop and assist with development of new and improved methodology. Required to conduct research activities lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.
