The Board of Trustees of Saint Michael’s College has begun the search for its 17th president and invites nominations and applications from persons who will provide exceptional and distinguished leadership. Following the successful tenure of President John J. Neuhauser, who will step-down following the 2017-18 academic year, Saint Michael’s College is positioned to build upon its reputation as an outstanding Catholic, Liberal Arts College. Located next to Burlington, VT, Saint Michael’s College offers the advantages of an outstanding faculty, intimate class sizes, close personal relationships and an ideal campus setting. It is anticipated that the next president will begin duties on, or about, July 1, 2018.
Saint Michael’s College seeks a leader firmly committed to the mission of the institution with administrative experience, appropriate credentials and an understanding and commitment to the liberal arts and professional programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The position requires the ability to raise significant funds to increase the college’s endowment as well as effectively manage its $75 million budget. The successful candidate will demonstrate an inclusive communication style, value team-building and collaboration and practice effective communication skills that will build upon positive relations currently maintained with the Burlington business community and alumni.
Approximately 2000 undergraduate and 400 graduate men and women make up the student body and come from 30 states and 39 countries. Forty-seven percent of first year students identify themselves as Catholic. They choose Saint Michael’s for its smaller class sizes, meaningful faculty interaction and a commitment to leadership and compassionate service to the community. Saint Michael’s alumni are the backbone of their home communities – teachers, business professionals and civic leaders – and living proof of the merits of a Saint Michael’s education.

The presidential search committee will begin a review of applications immediately and continue work until an appointment is made by the Board of Trustees.
