Duties: The Program Coordinator supports the research and administrative activities of the Kumar Robotics Lab located at the Penn Engineering Research and Collaboration Hub (PERCH) at the Pennovation Center. This position will serve as the main administrative point of contact for the Kumar Robotics Lab which includes providing daily general support to all members of the lab, coordinating meetings and events, maintaining a record of all current and past postdoctoral researchers, graduate and undergraduate students, visiting researchers and summer students. This position will also be responsible for maintaining the lab's publication list, research website, and social media platforms.

The Program Coordinator will coordinate the assembly and submission of project reports, quarterly summaries, annual reports and ad hoc reports prior to the deadline and provide secondary support in coordinating sponsored program proposals. This position will provide support for the entire Kumar Robotics Lab sponsored programs portfolio which includes purchasing equipment and supplies, handling all aspects of travel and expense reimbursements using Concur, and providing support in account maintenance, reconciliation and financial reporting. Additionally, this person will be responsible for the planning and execution of events, conferences and sponsored visits for distinguished visitors hosted by/at the Kumar Robotics Lab. This person will be an integral member of the team at PERCH and assist with PERCH activities and events as needed.

This position reports to the Director of the Towne business office with a dotted reporting line to the PI of the Kumar Robotics Lab.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 2 years to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. This position requires a high level of initiative, independent judgment and organizational savvy with the capacity to handle sensitive and confidential information with tact and diplomacy, prioritize conflicting needs and make reasonable decisions in the absence of direction.

Skills essential for success in this role include: superior people skills, a strong customer service orientation, a commitment to continuous improvement and excellence, demonstrated ability to simultaneously work under pressure, prioritize assignments, manage multiple tasks and proactively anticipate emerging issues and offer solutions. Prior experience coordinating complex special events for diverse and distinguished guests is preferred.

Applicant should be strongly detail-oriented, have demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capabilities, have outstanding oral and written communication skills with the ability to compose and edit a variety of correspondence and proven competence creating and editing PowerPoint presentations, including the generation of charts and graphs using data sets. Flexibility is essential, as is comfort with working in a large open office and lab space.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel. Previous experience with Penn financial processes and procedures is highly desired.
