Job description

Duties: The Associate Director will act in the capacity of chief of staff to the Director, serving as overall operations director, including transactional oversight of operating budgets, educational program financial management and planning, space planning and facilities operations. Position also includes direct supervision of administrative staff, policy/procedure development and implementation, as well as participating in and supporting all strategic planning activities. The Associate Director will work closely during the faculty recruitment process, including development of financial plans and recruitment packages. In addition, the incumbent will work closely with the Director on matters of short and long-term strategic planning, and implementation of resulting plans. The Associate Director will also act as a resource to our large roster of senior scholars, divisional staff and trainees.

Qualifications: The minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master's degree is a plus.
Knowledge of academic issues, programs, and organization preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information
