Applications are invited for the Assistant Dean for Field Education and Community Partnership and Professor of the Practice. The Graduate School of Social Work (GSSW) at the University of Denver (DU) seeks an accomplished candidate who dually values a commitment to student learning and to community partnership. The Assistant Dean for Field Education is an appointed faculty member in the Professor of the Practice Series, who is responsible for the overall administration of the social work field education program. This position ensures the long-term development and day-to-day management of the program, coordination of its activities with other programs with which it overlaps, and leadership to ensure an excellent program that adheres to internal policies as well as those of the overall MSW Program and the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). It is expected that the successful candidate will engage in collaboration within the school, across the university, with our two Colorado off-site communities and with our on-line students in all locations.
Appointment rank and length of multiple year contract will be determined at the time of hire and will be commensurate with background and experience and in accordance with DU and GSSW's tenure and promotion guidelines. This position is a non-tenure track twelve (12) month appointment. The Professor of Practice appointment is integral to the Assistant Dean appointment. As such, the professorship will not be held in the absence of the Assistant Dean appointment.
- MSW degree
- Experience in MSW field education, management experience, and a track-record of community engagement.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and learning and collaborative partnerships.
- Prior teaching experience
- Experience with online programs, especially their field education component.
- Five years or more of field education experience.
