Position Description: Direct Texas State Opera Theater and produce two staged productions a year. Teach opera workshop, opera theater and other courses as assigned relating to vocal and theatrical performance. Participate in professional activities as a stage director/performer and/or music scholar. Regularly participate in faculty meetings, committees, and other service activities (specific duties assigned by the Director of the School of Music).

Required Qualifications

Master of Music; and
Record of accomplishment as an opera director at the professional or collegiate level.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate in music or equivalent professional experience;
Experience in university-level ensemble teaching;
National/international exposure as a professional opera director or singer; and
Demonstrated communication and organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively.
