Responsible for acquiring and managing library materials in all formats in support of Marymount University academic programs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 1 year related experience.
  • Experience acquiring and managing library materials, such as monographs, e-books, serials, or electronic resources, using Voyager or another Integrated Library System ( ILS ). Experience using an electronic resource management system and link resolver.
  • Basic supervision experience.
  • Intermediate skills using Microsoft Word and Excel required; aptitude for accurate detail-oriented work; mathematical skills and ability to prioritize effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Library technical services preferred.
  • Experience with Alma preferred.

Responsibility / Duty

Order, receive and process all library materials purchases and subscriptions. This includes: search for and order appropriate item from vendors and publishers, renew all subscriptions, receive materials using Voyager Acquisitions Module, track and claim items not received, ensure materials are cataloged and processed for library use. For electronic resources: ensure provider has information necessary to provide online access, verify that links are working correctly through the catalog (Voyager, transitioning to Alma) and link resolver (ProQuest 360 Link) and that access to content is available, register for administrative accounts to manage resources, collect usage statistics, etc. Process invoices for library materials in all formats; ensure that payments are processed and assigned to the proper general ledger account using Datatel; maintain all budget spreadsheets, provide budget support to Collections Team through Voyager budget reports, projection reports and other budget reports as needed.

Responsibility / Duty

Establish and maintain accurate Acquisitions and Catalog records for monograph and serial holdings in all formats. This includes performing basic descriptive cataloging for new holdings as well as updating records for deletions using OCLC Connexion and Voyager. Maintain the electronic resources management system (ProQuest SerialsSolutions) for electronic resources. Keep current with all platform, publisher, collection and title changes.

Responsibility / Duty

Maintain collections spreadsheets for subscriptions (periodicals, standing orders and databases) containing data needed to create reports such as current/canceled titles, core titles, fund code, format, etc.

Responsibility / Duty

Collects CSG statistics for collections, budget, and other miscellaneous data; maintain the statistics spreadsheet, and prepare annual national surveys ( ACRL and IPEDS ) for CSG . Collect usage statistics, compile data, and prepare reports.

Hires, trains and supervises student employees.
Performs other duties as assigned.
