Position Summary:

The Coordinator of Housekeeping is responsible for overseeing and monitoring custodial and minor maintenance activities in building facilities at an institution of higher education. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Coordinate the work processes of designated cleaning teams through the team leader.

Equip, supply, train and guide the various cleaning teams through the team leader.

Document disciplinary activities pertaining to the team leaders.

Facilitate and review building inspections by team leaders, and communicate with building liaisons to insure customer satisfaction

Develop computer knowledge and skill in the use of Banner System, FAMIS, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Adhere to the vision and guiding principles of the Finance and Administration Division

Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures, custodial and maintenance practices and techniques, and materials and equipment used in custodial/maintenance work.

Ability to determine maintenance and custodial needs of building facilities, maintain records and compile reports related to custodial and maintenance activities, and supervise a medium to large-sized staff of subordinate supervisors, custodial workers and semi-skilled maintenance repairmen.

General Days/Hours:

Monday-Friday
9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

Other:

This position is considered Essential Personnel in Facilities Management and Candidate must possess a valid Drivers License.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a High School Diploma.

Four (4) years of experience in housekeeping, custodial maintenance, or related area, including two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.

Other job related Education and/or Experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval or the qualifications review committee.
