Reporting to the Chief Diversity Officer, this position will be responsible for leading efforts to research and evaluate progress toward the organization's diversity and inclusion goals and initiatives through the effective use and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data.

The successful candidate will lead efforts to determine best methods to collect, visualize and report diversity data and metrics to support the development, advancement and integration of strategies across department, center and institute stakeholders.

The primary responsibilities will be to perform a variety of complex and independent activities involved in the collection, analysis, documentation and interpretation of information and data relevant to diversity outcomes and impact as well as program and services assessment. This involves creating surveys, compiling data, developing rubrics, and delivering ad hoc reports for stakeholders to identify gaps and progress related to diversity and inclusion initiatives and programming.

This will also include compiling workforce, faculty, staff and student diversity demographic data to support accreditation, grant funding requirements and proactive measures related to potential audits.

Other responsibilities include the development of analytics to evaluate outcomes and progress related to diversity strategic plans, diversity and inclusion training and development efforts, and qualitative and quantitative survey data to help inform the direction of diversity and inclusion efforts.

Under the general supervision of the CDO, the D&I Metrics analyst will work to design and coordinate data collection and research analysis for The Office of Diversity & Inclusion, as well as facilitate the design, planning, development, implementation and monitoring of metrics that help to measure diversity and inclusion efforts and impact across The School of Medicine.

Additionally, the D&I Metrics Analyst will conduct analysis to identify key gap areas potentially affecting ability to remain competitive in attracting and retaining a talented diverse workforce.

Using established principles of measurement theory the D&I Metrics Analyst will:

1) Serve as a subject matter expert in the identification of areas of concern and the determination of appropriate benchmarking and metrics to achieve diversity and inclusion goals

2) Educate key stakeholders about measurement and accountability protocols for diversity/inclusion initiatives

3) Serve as point person in coordinating and managing key data resources in support of efforts to advance workforce (faculty, staff) and learner (students, residents) diversity initiatives

4) Recommend and administer protocols for the measurement of diversity and inclusion goals

5) Develop/implement valid and reliable instruments that assess impact of diversity efforts and initiatives

6) Use established survey research techniques to administer survey instruments that assess perceptions of inclusion and evaluate programmatic impact

7) Use qualitative assessment techniques such as focus groups and interviews

8) Complete statistical analyses, manage data pertaining to diversity and inclusion outcomes and goals, and disseminate findings to internal and external constituencies

9) Collaborate as requested with other appropriate offices engaged in assessment research.

10) Analyze, summarize, and disseminate relevant information per the request of the Chief Diversity Officer

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Metric Design and Development

* Coordinate efforts with other key offices (SOM and Institutional) to create an accessible data dashboard that will allow departments and the school to monitor performance and progress across a spectrum of quantitative and qualitative metrics relevant to diversity and inclusion

* Develop, implement and monitor metrics that measure diversity efforts and outcomes within the SOM.

* Monitor progress and performs trend analysis of agreed upon comprehensive SOM metrics (quantitative and qualitative) broken down by department/center/institute and prepares appropriate reports

* Utilize application software to create reports for CDO, Chairs, Institute & Center Directors, administrators and appropriate outside agencies.

* Develop, maintain and update databases, contact information and listservs to assist in efficient and accurate communication to a wide variety of diversity stakeholders/identity groups as determined by the CDO.

* Establish processes to collect, visualize and report benchmark data

* Provide technical consultation and training on how to access data.

Data Collection and Analysis

* Solicit, compile, analyze and summarize demographic data on faculty, staff, fellows, residents, and medical students from a variety of data resources both within the SOM, and nationally including comparative information from peer institutions.

* Create reports for the CDO on requested demographic data to track progress and identify areas of opportunity requiring greater focus.

* Perform complex statistical analyses and data extracts in accordance with the needs of the CDO, Senior Administration and Department Chairs.

* Track the compositional diversity of the SOM faculty, staff and learners (students, residents and fellows) including ranking, promotions, attrition, grant awards, salaries, and other parameters designated by the CDO.

* Collect and manage data to support school wide and department/institute/center specific diversity strategy development.

* Oversee and maintain data related to pipeline programs to provide ROI information.

* Compile data to create historical and current databases.

Climate Survey Analysis and Management

* Provide oversight and management of all components of AAMC Diversity & Engagement Survey (DES) data and other relevant climate related assessments to help inform D&I strategic investment and direction.

* Prepare, analyze, and manage the distribution and communication of department/unit level survey reports and assist leaders in interpreting results, assessing gaps and opportunities and identifying strategies to influence progress over time.

* Conduct qualitative analysis using INVIVO or other state of the art qualitative analysis tools to identify overarching themes of survey feedback. Prepare reports and design strategies to effectively communicate findings both to specific stakeholders as well as school-wide.

* Provide comparative analysis across surveys (e.g. DES, Faculty Survey etc.) to identify patterns and trends and formulate recommendations for progress.

Experience

Minimum of three years of related diversity/inclusion analysis experience working with data collection and reporting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preference:

Work requires advanced knowledge of both statistical analysis and interpretation generally acquired through completion of a masters degree in a social sciences-related field. An earned doctorate in research, measurement and statistics or higher education with an emphasis in assessment, research, measurement and statistics is strongly preferred.

* Demonstrated expertise in establishing qualitative and quantitative metrics that drive accountability and conducting impact analysis.

* Experience researching, analyzing and summarizing data and translating into compelling presentations, reports and influence strategies.

* Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion and/or organizational development/culture change initiatives within a complex decentralized organization, preferably in the context of academic medicine.

* A track record of breaking down silos and building bridges and credibility with a diverse set of constituents.
