DIRECTOR FACULTY AFFRS & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Duties: Working closely with the Executive Director, Faculty Affairs and Professional Development (FAPD), responsible for developing, overseeing, administering the policies and procedures associated with employment for faculty, academic support staff and Penn Medicine Clinicians in the Perelman School of Medicine (PSOM). These include, but are not limited to, issues associated with recruitment, appointment, promotion, tenure, leaves of absence, termination, misconduct and governance process. Advises senior administration, faculty and staff concerning faculty policy issues. Partners with Penn Medicine Academic Computing Services (PMACS) in planning and coordinating activities, from system design through implementation.

Qualifications: The minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 7 to 10 years of related experience, preferably in Human Resources or other related professional experience in an academic institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; SHRM certification a plus; previous experience must include experience in project management, including the design, testing, modification, training and implementation of new and existing business applications; demonstrated ability to work within a team as well as lead initiatives; ability to handle multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced, complex environment; excellent consultative skills and verbal and writing skills, demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels within and external to PSOM, the University and Penn Medicine.
