The Lewis Center for the Arts seeks a Part-time Technical Assistant to support classes and equipment management for afternoon and evening activity. Competitive applicants will possess working knowledge of Mac OS X 10.9.x - 10.12.x and Windows 7/8.1/10 operating system and server environments, Adobe CS6 and CC, including Photoshop, Premier, Illustrator and other components, Microsoft Office and Apple Pro Applications including Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack, Motion and Aperture. Experience with configuration and support for a variety of e-mail and web tools including OS X Mail, Outlook Exchange and Thunderbird. Familiarity with legacy versions of IE, MS Edge, Firefox, Quicktime Pro, Flash, Dreamweaver, and ImageReady are also a plus.
- Working with the Technical Team and Manager to optimize and maintain the performance of Academic, Administrative and Public Access computing systems.
- Supporting Macintosh based classrooms, public access stations and the peripheral equipment used by students in our facilities.
- Coordinating with staff and faculty to provide consistent onsite support in planning and implementing a variety of computer and audio-visual equipment installations
- Configuration, installation and maintenance of Macintosh and PC based computer systems
This position will require the ability to work independently and as part of a team with flexible schedules, including evening and occasional weekend hours as scheduled. Essential abilities will include troubleshooting productivity, multimedia and graphics software issues, web and server based storage and printing processes in a multi-platform computing environment. High school diploma or equivalent required. Ability to lift 70 pounds, work on 6-foot ladder.
Other qualities for this position will include a strong background in a customer service environment, strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously for a variety of campus and off-campus locations and events.
