The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University Of Colorado School Of Medicine has a faculty position available at the rank of Instructor for a full-time Physician Assistant.
Under the direction of the full-time faculty or designee, this position provides inpatient/outpatient medical care services at The University of Colorado Hospital (UCH). The candidate will be expected to provide independent clinical services for plastic and reconstructive surgical patients. The primary responsibility of the PA would be as a surgical extender for the members of the Division of Plastic Surgery as a first assist in the OR and in the management of the outpatient clinic. They would also be available for floor consults for Plastic Surgery and inpatient care.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is energetic and motivated to play an integral part of the team. Close collaboration with the surgeons, hospital and clinic staff will be necessary. This position may be asked to participate in marketing and networking opportunities with referring providers. Eligibility for prescriptive authority is required.
Current license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse and/or Physician Assistant with prescriptive privileges.
Meets and maintains specific requirements of the Nursing Credential Review Board (Nurse Practitioner) and the Medical Review Board (Physician Assistant).
Proper education and licensing for a Physician Assistant. Previous plastic surgery operative experience is a plus. Must be eligible for certification with independent prescriptive authority.
Previous academic experience.
