Advertised Job Summary
The Department of Geography is accepting applications for one full-time non-tenure track Instructor beginning August 16, 2017 at a 9 month salary of $42,000. We seek an Instructor with specialization in Human Geography and Geographical Information Science (GISci) to teach courses including Introduction to Geography, The Digital Earth, Geographies of American Cities, and specialized courses in transportation and urban planning. We welcome applications from those with specializations related to urban geography and regional planning, neighborhood and community development, transportation policy, social and spatial inequalities, planning and urban theory, spatial analysis, and GISci.
The teaching load for this position will be three classes per semester (3:3 load). This is an annual appointment that must be renewed each year, contingent upon satisfactory performance, departmental needs, and the availability of funding.Required Education and Experience
A Master's degree is required and must be in hand by August 1, 2017.Preferred Qualifications
A Ph.D. is preferred.
