The Cardiovascular Research Center is seeking a Research Analyst Principal. The position is essential to the translational aneurysm laboratory research support of Dr. Alan Daugherty to conduct research projects.

The position will need to plan, develop, carry-out, and resolve technical research procedures in a wet research lab environment affiliated with many faculty, staff, and students.

The position will also need to train students and post-docs on laboratory function and advanced technical skills.

Ideal candidate will be organized, patient, able to communicate well in verbal and written formats, and be superbly knowledgeable and skilled in lab procedures involving items like telemetry, PCR, and biochemistry processes.

Physical Requirements

Moving and lifting object from floor to above shoulders up to 25 pounds. Standing and sitting at computer terminals and laboratory bench completing repetitive tasks for extensive periods of time. Working with materials requiring personal protective equipment in accord with EH&S policy.


Primarily Days Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, some Evenings, Weekends are possible


Proficient and IACUC compliant small animal care; Basic lab skills, (e.g., pipetting); basic computer skills (e.g., MS windows, excel)

Preferred Education/Experience

Preferred degree in a related field (science preferred) and two or more years paid working experience in a research laboratory involving technical biochemical research protocols and mouse husbandry.
