Engineer - Quality
Salary listed as entry level, based on experience pay level could increase
Provides supervisory leadership for all quality personnel on shift. Coordinates quality related activities to provide continuity in support of quality, company policies and procedures. Establish and develop the quality reliability and statistical process control program, and install these systems. Establish and maintain liaison with customers and supplier Quality Control Personnel, and recommend corrective action and insure conformance with quality specifications and standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct and supervise the quality personnel to assure accurate information is provided to the customer on a daily basis.
Reports out quality KPIs to management.
Responsible for meeting customer and in-plant quality specifications with support of quality manager and quality technicians. Work with suppliers to establish S.P.C programs, and monitor their compliance with the program.
Inspect all purchased goods upon receipt verifying counts, weights and measures to insure they are consistent with receivers. Inspect all purchased goods upon receipt verifying conformance with customer's specifications.
Carry out random in-process material quality audits using S.P.C to insure compliance with our quality standards.
Inspect all shipments of finished goods to verify conformity with prescribed sequencing and shipping specifications.
Review all in-house rejected material, with regard to disposition.
Develop and maintain a rapport with all vendors and customers aimed at an expedient resolution of quality problems.
Ensures quality control functions are performed accurately and timely.
Provides plant support for production issues related to quality layout and testing.
Provides support for new launches (testing and test result summaries) as required.
Generates documentation for affected change requirements on systems or control plans on quality labs.
Ensures the equipment performance for quality labs.
Maintains monthly budget requirements / Issue PO requests for items required in the quality areas.
Evaluates weekly scrap reporting, job descriptions, and special request log for discrepancies on testing.
Provides administrative control for quality.
Performs other duties as directed by Quality Manager.

Education and Experience:
B.S. degree in engineering or other technical-related field or equivalent experience.
G.D.T. (Geometric Dimensional Tolerance)
S.P.C. (Statistical Process Control)
Two to three years in management, process engineering or quality control.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate software programs. Ability to
create visual aids for communication purposes.
Duties also include assisting in the day-to-day management of the Environmental Management System. Following all environmental work instruction and / or cleaning up spills or other duties required of the Environmental 1st Response Team.
