Florida Atlantic University's department of eLearning is seeking a Research Coordinator, at the Boca Raton Campus.
The Coordinator, Research Information will manage the research of the Center, gather data and respond to state data requests, search and apply for grants in support of the Center's mission, and assist faculty with their research in distance learning.
Develop internal policies and procedures for the acceptance of research proposals from faculty.
Assist faculty in the interpretations and implementation of policies and procedures as they apply to the research at the Center.
Serve as a liaison between the Center for eLearning/Research and Technology office/departments/ and outside agencies.
Work in a team environment with the ability to flex, acting as leader in the development and implementation of research and grant projects within the unit to support for the faculty on their research and grant writing projects.
Act as a team member in the program evaluation, unit planning, and other activities.
Assist in the gathering of data and reporting on state requests about distance learning and program evaluation of the operation at the Center for eLearning. Because the Center for eLearning must respond to initiatives outside of the unit, the person needs to be able to quickly move from one project to another.
Required to perform related duties as required or deemed appropriate to the accomplishment of the responsibilities and functions of his/her area.
Develop research procedures and processes for the Center for eLearning.
Coordinate research projects both within the unit and across colleges.
Write IRB proposals for Center for eLearning research.
Assist professors in writing IRB proposals for distance learning research.
Search for and apply for grants to support of Center for eLearning activities.
Assist professors in searching and applying for grants in support of their distance learning research.
Gather the data, conduct analysis and write statistical results for publication.
Write surveys to gather information on the services provided by the center for program evaluation purposes.
Use current university data to analysis for patterns and identification of strengths and weaknesses within the service we are providing.
Respond to data requests from the state about distance learning at the university.
Coordinate the research advisory committee for the Center for eLearning.
Doctor degree from an accredited institution in instructional technology, education or other areas of specialization as appropriate; or a Master's degree from an accredited institution and five years of research experience.
Strong statistical background able to develop advance data analysis methodologies.
Good understanding of mega data, data mining, and databases.
Project management skills.
Strong research background with publication experience.
Willing to work in a highly collaborative environment.
Must have excellent people skills.
Must be very adoptable and change projects instantaneously.
Ability to write reports.
Understand human research and is Citi certified.
Ability to use SAS or other statistical software packages.
Ability to develop surveys.
Ability to analysis qualitative data.
Knowledgeable about multimedia and video development for instruction preferred.
Knowledgeable in best practices in instructional technology uses preferred.
Knowledgeable about best practices in instructional design and implementation of distance learning preferred.
Knowledgeable about program evaluation processes preferred.
