Information Technology Services (ITS) supports the systems, applications, and processes that support instruction.

Under general direction, the Coordinator for Professional Development and Training has the primary responsibility of supporting members of the University community in their efforts to learn and effectively use supported technologies and technical tools available at Colgate. Primarily, this shall be accomplished through maintaining and understanding the Colgate community members' professional development and training needs that can be met through online, one-on-one and group technical training. The Coordinator (a) designs and delivers training sessions where possible and/or (b) partners with internal or external subject matter experts to develop and coordinate the delivery of training. Competencies will include:
•Collaborate with instructional designers, subject matter experts and key stakeholders to develop and deliver one-on-one and group training and development aimed at enhancing professional development, technology knowledge and workplace performance.
•Conduct needs assessments to understand development and technical training needs, and coordinate the design and delivery of services that are responsive to those needs (workshops, web-based tutorials, seminars, online documentation, etc.)
•Actively participate in IT projects to ensure that the training and documentation needs of the end users and IT Support Services are met.
•Work closely with the Director of Learning and Applied Innovation to implement overall training, communication and knowledge management strategies and policies at the University.
•Develop and maintain a web presence to share information about training and development opportunities and resources available to the Colgate community.
•Design and conduct ongoing assessment of services, and generate reports of efficacy in meeting the needs of the community.
•Other duties as assigned.

A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible work experience including responsibilities for supporting and providing professional development and training.
Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, educational technology, business, computer science or related field or equivalent professional experience. (Preference given to applicants with a Master's degree or advanced certification in field relevant to the position).
