General Summary:

Serve as a member of our Executive leadership team that is committed to excellence and advancing the Division of Athletics' mission and strategic vision. Responsible for strategic direction, oversight, coordination, leadership, and active participation in the revenue generating and external functions of the Division.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Adhere to any and all applicable NCAA, Mid-American Conference and Eastern Michigan University policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures.

This position is responsible for the following functions: Multi-media rights, Corporate sponsorships, Ticketing (season, individual, premium, suite and group sales), Branding and licensing, Merchandising, Marketing and promotions, Media relations, Social media and online strategy, Radio and television integration

Supervise the staff members in these external areas while serving as a member of the Department's senior leadership team and the senior staff member regarding external operations.

Responsible for the direct oversight and management of assigned sport programs, including supervising and evaluating head coaches, monitoring budgets, developing competitive schedules, approving all team travel and expenses, overseeing marketing plans and overseeing student-athlete academic progress and welfare. In the management of the sport programs, this position will also collaborate with the development staff to build relationships with key donors and prospective donors for the teams.

Oversee the equipment staff and develop sound inventory controls and proper budget management.

Work collaboratively with Athletic Department staff, University External Affairs and the Office of the President to meet strategic goals.

Perform related duties as required. Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree is required; Master's or terminal degree desirable.

Minimum of five years' experience at an NCAA Division I institution or conference office with responsibilities for leading an external unit(s) with revenue generating expectations (e.g. marketing, ticketing, development, corporate sponsorship, etc.) and/or experience at an executive level that demonstrates the potential for successful leadership in intercollegiate athletics is required.

The ability to effectively and creatively manage complex issues and relationships; hire, supervise, lead and motivate staff, and develop, analyze and meet revenue targets is required.

Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and excellent written and oral communication skills are required.

Must be prepared to lead while also contributing in a hands-on manner.

Must uphold the mission and values of EMU Athletics and adhere to NCAA, Mid-American Conference and EMU rules and policies.
