Job Description Summary

Acts as Videographer and/or Editor responsible for capturing high quality video and post-production editing. Involved in all of the College's day to day video productions including the scheduling and coordination of in-studio television productions and on-location electronic field productions. Assists with conceptualization of ideas and assembling media assets into effective and engaging content. Responsible for the management of media assets and archiving. Works closely with the Producer during the entire production process to execute the vision and goal of the client. Provides daily leadership of video production crews, operates video and audio recording equipment, creates and implements television lighting designs.

Job Responsibilities


Coordinates closely with Producers to transform creative ideas and concepts into dynamic visual content via various post production methods including Avid, After Effects and Photoshop.

Originates and implements lighting designs and set designs for single and multi-camera productions in the studio and at remote locations.

Works various crew positions for multi-camera and single camera productions which includes directing both remote and studio events.

Responsible for the setup and operation of digital video production equipment and systems in the studio and at remote locations.

Assists in the management of the digital media library and maintenance of the storage server.

Stays current with technology and industry trends in order to recommend the purchase of new/replacement equipment systems.

Performs preventive maintenance of audio, video, multi-image and related equipment within the Television Production unit.

Participates in development of Television Production equipment budgets and places orders for goods and services as appropriate.

Provides oversight of the logistics, schedules and operations required for the successful execution of the College's daily video production requirements.

May functionally supervise employees who are working on a live/video tape in studio production.

Updates digital signs.

Performs audio mixing and recording with both wired and wireless sound equipment.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications


Associate's degree in Communications, Broadcast Services, or related area.

Five years of experience in a related field.

Demonstrated proficiency with non-linear video editing systems and equipment.

Experience with studio and on location shooting and lighting.

Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision.

Skills in basic math and grammar, and basic level word processing (MS Word).

Ability to communicate with internal and external clients for the purpose of developing live or taped video programs.

Ability to give direction and appropriate feedback to co-workers.

Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in the performance of regular work.

Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population.

Valid Ohio Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications


10 years of experience in a related field.

Professionally recognized videography abilities.

Demonstrated ability in directing studio and electronic field productions.

Demonstrated ability to design and assemble sets for studio and remote locations.

Demonstrated proficiency in training, scheduling and managing video production crews.

Demonstrated proficiency in producing instructional programming.

Knowledge of essential electronic engineering.

Work Schedule

Standard College hours of business, Monday thru Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Target Hiring Rate/Salary Minimum of $53,448 annually

This is a Full-time 1199/ SEIU Bargaining Unit position, Grade 10. Full time (1199/ SEIU ) bargaining unit employees at Cuyahoga Community College will be considered first for vacant positions.
