Position Summary: The University of North Carolina School of Social Work at Chapel Hill seeks a Community Engagement and Education Manager for its new Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program (SIEP). Working under the auspices of the Jordan Institute for Families, the Manager will engage and educate members of the School community and its external stakeholders in the University and larger community on the value of social innovation and entrepreneurship in creating solutions to complex problems backed by evidence. This position will work closely with the Director of the Jordan Institute for Families to align activities and efforts to advance shared goals and strategies. The Manager will join a dynamic and supportive team geared toward success. The Manager will oversee the implementation of the SIE Lab. The Lab is a faculty and student field site and setting from which both innovative and entrepreneurial social enterprises are launched and SIE consultation services provided to public, nonprofit and private for benefit programs. The School recognizes the imperative of creating opportunities for faculty and students to lead the way in innovating solutions to complex problems. The Lab offers a setting from which SIE leadership, critical design thinking, and entrepreneurship is modeled and refined through real world applications.

Education Requirements: Masters degree in Social Work or related field and minimum 3 years of experience in the private and/or the public sectors relevant and foundational to thinking both innovatively and entrepreneurially about the solution of complex social problems.

Qualification and Experience: Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential to engaging and motivating diverse stakeholders in support of a common vision and mission. Proficiency in various technology platforms as Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Aptitude and skills in using various social media platforms necessary to support marketing and communication strategies. A successful candidate will possess a ability to work independently with minimal supervision; possess excellent organizational skills with strict attention to detail and follow through; possess initiative, problem solving skills and a proven ability to respond to pressures of workload; and demonstrate a commitment to SIEP, the School, and University's vision and mission.
