The Office of Engagement fosters lifelong connections that strengthen the relationship alumni, parents, families and friends have with the University of Virginia.

The Administrative Staff Assistant will assist the office in achieving its mission by providing a high quality of executive support to the Associate Vice President for Engagement and Annual Giving. Responsibilities include: writing correspondence, setting meeting agendas for team and senior leadership meetings, travel arrangements and reimbursement, meeting schedules, budget management, facilitating monthly meetings and day to day guidance to the administrative staff, creation of reports and presentations and administrative duties. In addition, he/she will work with vendors on purchasing, printing and mailing of packages to constituents and also coordinate all shipments.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proven ability to manage projects independently, from inception through implementation. This position requires working knowledge of basic office practices. Must be highly organized, professional and discrete, with excellent written and oral communication, office and interpersonal skills. Must be detail-oriented and have a record of initiative-taking and problem solving. Must be willing and able to provide administrative staff services on a rotational and/or emergency basis for administrative staff colleagues in the unit, including reception, telephones and visitor hospitality.
