Job Summary/Basic Function

The Assistant Director of Educational Services, under general direction, assists with the operation and supervision of the Educational Services Offices.



Minimum Education/Experience/Skills

Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Six years of related experience with high school or College aged students in an educational environment.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.



Preferred Education/Experience/Skills

A master's degree in higher education administration, education, or related field is preferred.
Five years of experience in academic support, tutoring, learning assistance, or related programs.



Work Hours

Monday-Friday; 8am-5pm
Some nights/weekends

Job Duties
Percent of total time 20 Responsibility / Duty

Coordinates the development, planning, implementation, and coordination of functions, staff, and budgets within the Department of Academic Support, which includes Study Abroad Programs, University Tutoring Center, and and learning assistance initiatives.

Percent of total time 20 Responsibility / Duty

Provides effective leadership through appropriate trainings and supervision of academic support staff. Supervises tutoring programs, which includes online and facetoface tutoring support for students. Hires, trains, and keeps the tutoring staff up to date on current pedagogical trends. Help develop and provide new tutoring, group learning, and other peerassisted learning services. Assist the Director of Access and Inclusion to provide learning support to student with alternative learning needs. Manage daily operations, including scheduling and tracking of appointments and services and maintaining a tutoring calendar/schedule.

Percent of total time 15 Responsibility / Duty

Implements and oversees study abroad opportunities, international student travel risk management, program development and coordination, and program compliance. Partners with faculty members to create, coordinate, and provide study abroad opportunities for students. Develops and monitors the International Education Fee Scholarship and facilitates growth of campuswide study abroad programs.

Oversees, creates, and conducts assessments and compiles data for monthly and annual reports. Collaborates with the Director of Student Success to plans, develops, and achieves goals for academic support in accordance with university and division goals. Helps facilitate overall vision and direction of academic support and its respective programming/initiatives through the continuous improvement planning process.

Develops and monitors budget activity and recommends budgetary adjustments to ensure the success of academic support programs.

Provides information about programs and procedures to faculty, staff and students through outreach programs, inservice training, educational materials, presentations, promotional, and assessment activities.

Develops and implements procedures and guidelines to ensure adequate and system/state compliance for testing operations, program compliance, and dispersal of the International Education Scholarship Fee for students. Ensures related procedures and practices are in compliance with system, state, federal, and agencyspecific guidelines.

Assists with developing programs that facilitate a successful transition and retention to the university.

Serve on university committees and attends departmental and university meetings as required.
