Degree and Area of Specialization:

Ph.D. in biochemical sciences required. Emphasis on cell/molecular biology, immunology, cancer biology, virology, or biochemistry preferred.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Required: Minimum of 5 years experience in a biology research laboratory following Ph.D, with hands-on experience in at least two of the following research techniques: Culturing primary human cells; Using mouse models to investigate immune functions and disease pathology; In vitro analyses of human immune cell functions (e.g. ELISA, ELISpot; assays of cytolytic functions); Multicolor flow cytometry; Fluorescence microscopy; Immunohistochemistry;

Preferred: Purification and culture of primary human T cells; Generation and analysis of mice engrafted with human immune cells; Analysis of cell signaling; Molecular biology (especially Real-time PCR); Genetic manipulation of cells via viral transduction; Leadership experience in a lab setting and experience training others in lab techniques/protocols.



Position Summary:

This position is an integral part of an immunology research team investigating the anti-tumor functions of a unique population of human T cells (Vd2+ T cells). The successful applicant should have strong organizational abilities and excellent interpersonal skills, as well as some or all of the technical skills listed above, and enthusiasm for laboratory research.
