Minimum Salary: $2,864.00/month

This position is accountable to the Materials, Acquisition and Distribution Supervisor. The purpose of this position is to provide material handling services for Facilities Services using a centralized store strategy. This position is the daily point of contact for receiving, distribution, storage of materials, supplies and equipment necessary to provide maintenance and surplus services within the campus environment. This position processes day-to-day stock fulfillment and customer requisitions. It provides backup purchasing support as needed.

Fulfillment, Distribution and Liquidation - Provides acquisition and delivery services of materials and supplies from local vendors and suppliers. Assists with the pickup of campus surplus items and disposal process. Ensures disposal is compliant with Federal, State of Colorado & UCCS requirements. Documents and maintains records for this process utilizing WebTMA and various technologies. Drives department vehicles in support of established methods to service campus internal and external customers. Drives vehicles in support of processes required to pick up and deliver materials and supplies. Uses hand trucks, pallet jacks, and dollies in support of tasks in a safe manner.

Snow Removal / Ice Control - Performs snow removal and ice control duties as assigned by Supervisor and department requirements. • Uses equipment and vehicles necessary to remove snow and ice from walkways, roads, entrances, etc.

Professional Development - Attends meetings, training sessions and other developmental activities as requested or assigned. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and membership in related professional organizations.

Store / Warehouse Maintenance and Safety - Follows and practices safe methods for handling and storage of hazardous materials and chemicals. Insures SDS documents are current for all department materials and supplies. Insures product shelving, isle width and height stacking requirements are maintained within code. Provides coaching and training of student staff in safe practices. Reports all injuries per state requirements and department practices. Manages supporting operating equipment according to manufactures recommendations. Use hand trucks, pallet jacks, and various types of dollies to move items around in a safe manner.

Inventory Control - Manages and controls inventory within State, University and department standards and practices. Insures security systems are operating correctly to deter possible theft and loss of products and materials. Checks and reports level of usage of stock items to prevent shortages, overstock, and possible obsolete items. Develops, implements, and organizes operations in the store for efficiency. Works with the Materials, Acquisition and Distribution Supervisor in product handling and storage requirements, processes for receiving product, shipping, and inventory methods. Produces inventory reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Insures inventory levels are maintained within budget requirements. Uses WebTMA software system and various technologies to account for products, material, and equipment stocked in store / warehouse. Uses hand trucks, pallet jacks and other dollies to move equipment and supplies around in a safe manner.

Store Operations - Manages daily store operations and processes. Receives, unloads, inspects and stores incoming deliveries. Verify quality, quantity, and product numbers of items received. Validates product is correct by comparing packing lists and invoice against order requested documents. Processes and distributes documentation to appropriate individuals. Contacts customers and vendors regarding discrepancies, damaged items, items needing return, etc. Assists customers with special material handling requirements such as truck delivery, forklift, pallet jack, dolly or labor assistance. Communicates order status with end user / stakeholders. Maintains purchase histories on the vendors and reviews / analyzes vendor performance periodically to assess the vendor's suitability and the availability of supplies over time. Works with the Materials, Acquisition and Distribution Supervisor regarding vendor performance. Responds to and deals with customer communications by email, telephone, text, and face to face. Guides and directs student staff in store operations, pick-up and deliveries of requested items, paperwork and customer service. Maintains store and other storage areas in a clean, safe and organized manor. Drives trucks and cars in support of the above activities in a safe manner.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Two yrs experience in warehousing/handling/shipping/receiving/storing, inventory/distribution of goods

Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher education. Proficient in technology (i.e. computers, iPad, inventory management software, Excel) related to warehouse and distribution product tracking, purchasing and liquidation. Understands inventory management systems and methods. Three to five years' experience in warehousing, handling, shipping, receiving, storing, inventory, and distribution of goods. Material handling equipment (i.e. forklift, walkie-stacker, tugger) experience.
