The Phoenix Center at Auraria has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Violence Prevention Education Coordinator position.

Professionals at the intermediate level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.

At the intermediate level, duties may be more limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals.

Position Emphasis:

The Violence Prevention Education Coordinator oversees prevention education services provided by the Phoenix Center at Auraria (PCA). The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the PCA's interpersonal violence prevention (IVP) education and outreach initiatives for the Auraria campus. This includes coordinating prevention activities with academic departments, student groups, student support services and other campus entities. This position is also responsible for recruiting, retaining, and educating student peer educators, designing and maintaining outcome measures, to include education and training materials, and collaborating with campus partners to ensure educational continuity.

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.

Salary and Benefits:

The the hiring range for this position has been established at $35,000 to $47,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in education, psychology, public administration, social science, liberal arts, communications, student affairs, public affairs, social work, women's studies, human services, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
  • One year of professional level experience providing intersectional education to a variety of audiences, and working collaboratively across disciplines.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in higher education
  • Experience in developing programs in response to diverse needs, including those of international students and/or historically disadvantaged groups.
  • One year of experience working with issues related to sexual violence, relationship violence, and/or stalking.
  • Experience working with graphic design, social media, and/or marketing techniques

Competencies:
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • In-depth knowledge related to the prevention of interpersonal violence
  • Experience creating and managing educational programs
