Advertised Job Summary
Manage the operation of the University's Standard Mail (pre-sort) facility. Provide a professional environment to confidently resolve customers' and co-workers' inquiries, and concerns, about mailing projects. The Standard Mail Manager will possess, and instill on her/his employees, quality customer service skills. Develops procedures to improve communications with customers and co-workers. Schedule all work to be completed at the highest quality, accurately, and on schedule. Coordinate employees to maximize their productive efficiency. Ability to manage
data files to prepare it for pre-sorted mailing discounts. Utilize and maintain equipment according to management's policies. Ensure accurate order entry, operational record keeping, and invoicing documentation, and process them in a timely manner. Promotes a professional relationship with the United States Postal Service to keep current with requirements, compliance, and technologies. The manager will be relied upon as a
knowledgeable mailing requirements resource. Provides strategic assessment and plans to management regarding workflow efficiency
improvements, software enhancements, and equipment upgrades. The manager is required to adhere to health and safety guidelines provided by management.
High school diploma and 3 years of work experience in postal, courier or delivery operations.Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Complete understanding of the postal regulations and requirements to earn the highest discounts available, and avoid penalties. Must understand mail piece design compliance in order to pre-approve art files prior to print production. Manager possesses a working knowledge of USPS PostalOne! portal.Ability to use National Correction of Address (NCOA) software to correct, update, and prepare the mailing.
