Professional Services Specialist 4  (PSS4) – Staff Accountant  (AFT)

This position performs professional accounting activities to ensure that the University and entities meet their legal reporting requirements with respect to Federal, State and Local laws and GAAP standards.  This full time position reports to the Assistant Controller in the Division of Administration and Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares financial reports and account reconciliations on both monthly and daily basis for SARTP, including but not limited to bank, loan and quarterly overhead reconciliations.
  • Preparation of Annual SARTP financial statements and footnotes.
  • Assist Tax Manager in preparation of SARTP Federal Form 990.
  • University Journal entry transfers
  • University chargeback accounts and reconciliations (Ebsco, Chronicle, Print shop, Ricoh)
  • Assist tax manager with reconciling revenue for off sites (Carnegie Center, Kramer Hall, Noyes, etc.)
  • Due to/Due From for all charts
  • Azeez Museum financials – quarterly
  • Daily monitoring of control reports (FGRCTRL, FGRCSH1, FGRCSH)
  • Prepare monthly University reconciliations for
  • University receivables
  • University Prepaid accounts
  • University Accruals
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, organization and interpersonal skills are necessary
  • Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word and experience with general ledger accounting software
  • Assist in Foundation & College annual audit.
  • Audit confirmations for banking, legal, debt, trustee, investment, etc.
  • Appendix A- Disclosures & EMMA
  • Foundation back-up
  • Payroll back-up
  • Monthly calculation of compensated absences, ABP report for reimbursement from the State, and analysis of central appropriations.
  • Prepares audit schedules and assist in auditor inquiries.
  • Attends and participates in meeting and events related to assigned responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate, through past accomplishments and actions, the ability to support Stockton University’s diversity commitment and strong student-centered vision and mission.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Controller

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor in Accounting or other finance related major from an accredited college

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA preferred
