(Non-Unit) Affirmative Action/Title IX Coordinator

Under the direct supervision of the President of the College, serves as the College's Affirmative Action Officer and Title IX Coordinator and Investigator. Responsible for ensuring compliance with the College's Policy on Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity & Diversity ("Policy on Affirmative Action"); Title IX; and all related state and federal laws and regulations, executive orders, and College policies. Works collaboratively with other College offices to develop, implement, and assess strategic goals to support and encourage a culture of inclusion in the College's community.
- Responsible for guidance in the development, administration and evaluation of a Diversity Strategic Plan and serves as an institutional leader to build strong affirmative action policies, procedures, programs and goals.
- Conducts intake, investigation, processing, issuing of findings of fact, and timely resolution of all Title IX, Affirmative Action and disability access offenses made known to responsible employees and/or reported or filed by students, faculty, employees, third parties, or by members of the broader community. Works collaboratively with Student Affairs, Office of Public Safety, Office of Human Resources, and other divisions and departments, as needed, with respect to complaint referral, investigation, resolution, and reporting.
- Develops, coordinates, delivers, and tracks College-wide training on the College's Policy on Affirmative Action; Prevention of Discrimination and Harassment; Title IX, and the Americans with Disabilities Act, working collaboratively with other College offices, state agencies, and community partners.
- Consults Human Resources on effective strategies to recruit, hire, promote, and retain a diverse workforce of faculty and staff through affirmative action and equal opportunity programs.
- Attends and participates in meetings and trainings for Affirmative Action Officers and Title IX Coordinators. Serves as the College liaison with the Board of Higher Education.
- Monitors, reviews, assesses, and conducts internal audits of processes and systems at the College and makes recommendations regarding College-wide compliance with Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity, Title IX related responsibilities. Makes recommendations to ensure College compliance with state and federal regulations in these and related areas.
- Serves as ex-officio member of the College Council for Community, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
- Develops, implements, and coordinates campus and/or school-based strategic efforts aimed at the prevention of sexual violence and other forms of sex discrimination.
- Provides ongoing training, consultation and technical assistance on Title IX for all employees in areas including: how to identify and report Title IX offenses; The College's responsibilities to address Title IX offenses, recognizing warning signals, reporting Title IX offenses to appropriate administrator and informational regarding confidential reporting options.
- Provides guidance and assistance to alleged victims of Prohibited Conduct, including referral to support resources, notice of right to file internal grievances, notice of the right to grieve to the U.S. Dept. of Education Office for Civil Rights and notice of the right to report incidents to law enforcement.
- Organizes and maintains grievance files, disposition reports, and other records regarding Title IX compliance, including annual reports of the number and nature of filed complaints and the disposition of said complaints, data collection, climate assessment, pattern monitoring, and serves as principal contact for government inquires pursuant to Title IX.
- Keeps abreast of current state and federal laws and trends regarding Affirmative Action and Title IX.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's or Advanced degree in human resources, student development, higher education administration, or other relevant discipline; OR Bachelor's degree with an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience; At least five years of professional experience in the areas of workforce diversity, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)/Affirmative Action, or Title IX; Demonstrated experience in investigations and complaint resolution; Evidence of excellent written communication and interpersonal skills; Knowledge of applicable laws and guidelines; Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action and workforce diversity; Experience working in a diverse environment; Ability to handle confidential and sensitive situations with diplomacy and excellent judgment and to act calmly and objectively in the face of sensitive situations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Seven to ten years of progressively responsible experience in Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)/Affirmative Action or Title IX compliance; Experience providing training across broad institutional lines on laws, policies and procedures; Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in organizational change; Higher Education experience.
SALARY RANGE: $82,648-$91,250/year, plus a comprehensive State benefits package
HOURS: 37.5 hrs./week
