Assistant Professor: Data Science
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at San Diego State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Data Science, beginning in Fall 2018. Focused research areas include but are not limited to data analytics, computational statistics, statistical visualization, large-scale statistical analysis, and analysis of massive (big) data. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a closely related field, and demonstrate excellent teaching skills and outstanding research potential. Preference may be given to candidates in the focused research areas described above and to those who would be able to augment or interact with existing groups within the Division of Statistics. Candidates should demonstrate the potential and commitment to seek extramural funding. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in our PhD program in Computational Statistics, as well as in our BS and MS programs in statistics and biostatistics.
