About Bunker Hill Community College:
Bunker Hill Community College is a multi-campus institution with vibrant, urban campuses in Boston, Massachusetts, in nearby Chelsea, Massachusetts, and at three satellite locations in the Greater Boston area. Recently re-certified as a Leader College by Achieving the Dream, BHCC is part of the Massachusetts public higher education system, which includes 15 community colleges. Founded in 1973, BHCC is the largest community college in Massachusetts, serving more than 14,000 students each semester across all modes of instruction. The College offers more than 100 certificate and degree programs that prepare students to enter four-year institutions or to enter the workforce prepared for better and more highly skilled jobs. An adjunct faculty member is needed to teach for an Early College program at Charlestown High School to students who are enrolled in high school and are dual enrolled at BHCC. The C-Town Tech Program is an Information Technology Pathway that prepares students for college and careers in information technology and related fields?with students earning transferable college credit throughout high school.
Adjunct faculty needed to teach the following courses (Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 semesters):
- CIT 113, IT Problem Solving
- CIT 131, Introduction to Creating Mobile Apps
Please specify in your cover letter the course(s) you would like to teach.
- Openness in teaching using Project Based Learning (PBL)
- Experience in using and/or teaching MIT's App Inventor 2
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other relevant field; Master's degree preferred
- Openness to engaging in the teaching of Learning Communities
- Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population
- Classroom teaching experience
- A successful candidate will undergo a CORI and SORI screening
- Experience in working as a software developer or programmer
- Community college teaching experience
- Work experience in a high school setting
QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE INVITED TO ATTEND THE ADJUNCT ACADEMY PRIOR TO BEING ASSIGNED COURSES.
Salary: $1,066.00 per credit hour
