I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

The Office of Medical Education plays an integral role in supporting the development, implementation, and evaluation of the GW Medical School curriculum, within the School of Medicine and Health Sciences. The Program Coordinator, OME position has primary responsibility for providing professional administrative support for faculty, students, and staff related to the implementation of the Undergraduate Medical School curriculum.
Responsibilities include:
• Coordinates central curricular calendars for all teaching faculty and students. Works directly with course directors and OME Development staff to create and update curricular Google calendars. This includes oversight of classroom and technology reservations, keen attention to discrepancies and overlap in schedules, and tracking and communicating changes to reservations and/or schedules with key stakeholders.
• Proctors curricular exams and exam-related review sessions. This includes following specific proctoring guidelines, enforcing exam-taker guidelines, coordinating high-stakes exams for large numbers of students, and scheduling and proctoring exam-review sessions with individual students.
• Coordinates and tracks student attendance. Works closely with other OME Course Support staff to develop and implement mechanisms for tracking student attendance and completion of mandatory remediation activities. Conducts audits of student attendance records across courses.
• Constructs Blackboard courses in alignment with a prescribed course-layout template. This includes working closely with course directors and OME Development staff to accurately reflect the course sessions, teaching faculty, assessments, and other course-related materials.
• Provides general administrative support for the Course Support team, including coordination of department meeting reservations, distribute and track parking passes, assist with event support, and carry out general department communication with GWU faculty, staff and students.
• Creates and follows through with peer-to-peer evaluations and faculty-to-peer evaluations. This includes retrieving the evaluation data and providing the correct individuals with the results.
• Performs other work related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 3 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
