Job Description
The Financial Aid Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Administrative Specialist III to join our team.

This position assists the Administrative Coordinator III in providing high quality administrative service to the Executive Director of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships (SFAS). This position provides administrative support to other SFAS Directors and the Associate Director. Duties may include providing other administrative support functions to staff that have varying needs based on the nature of specialization. Provides services in the following administrative support areas: purchasing of office supplies, full-time and part-time payroll, clerical, travel, inventory, general file maintenance, student telephone assistance and reception.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

* Verifies full-time and part-time personnel time sheets for correct entries and signatures.
* Collects required new hire paperwork and prepares monthly payroll in conjunction with payroll deadlines, and submits to the appropriate supervisor for approval.
* Inventories and maintains supply levels as needed, by purchasing supplies and services from outside vendors and from other UNT departments.
* Prepares and processes interdepartmental orders, purchase orders, contract purchase orders and requisitions for office supplies, forms, memberships and subscriptions.
* Performs telephone receptionist duties: answer 2-3 telephone lines, relay calls and messages, and schedules appointments.
* Assists and provides back up to the Administrative Coordinator III in various aspects: preparing travel arrangements, filing travel requests, computing vouchers, processing full-time personnel paperwork and record-keeping.

* Opens and closes College Work-Study and temporary hourly positions, in conjunction with Career Center.
* Assists in supervising student personnel in the administrative area
* Provides courteous, helpful service to students, faculty and staff.
* Comply with all university policies, rules and regulations including attending work regularly and punctually.
* Manages routine office tasks.
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent and three years of general office or clerical experience. Substitution of education for experience allowed. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:
* Basic MS Office skills.
* Ability to problem-solve and make decisions.
* Ability to effectively communicate.
* Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.
* Skill in composing routine letters and preparing reports.
* Skill in recording and compiling material for reports.
