Job Summary/Basic Function: Under general supervision, the Admissions Counselor III is responsible for the coordination and implementation of established and personally developed transfer student recruitment and enrollment plans and strategies designed to increase undergraduate transfer enrollment and student success.
Work Hours: Typically Monday-Friday; 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. May work beyond normal office hours and weekends.

Provides professional level knowledge, advice, and counseling to students and prospective students regarding the transfer admissions process to include admissions requirements, transfer articulation policies and provides unofficial transfer evaluations.
Travels frequently to community colleges and other learning institutions to publicize and explain the University's transfer requirements.
Researches, advises, and advocates on behalf of students experiencing barriers to transfer process; refers students to departments, and resources for advisement.
Coordinates regular advising visits with community colleges in service region to discuss transfer concerns.
Disseminate information regarding admissions criteria, scholarships, financial aid, programs of study, etc.
Continuously communicate with, track progress of and follow-up with all prospective transfer students (using a CRM system) from the point of initial contact through the enrollment process via in-person visits, phone calls, letters, emails, etc.
Resource documents to provide accurate curriculum materials; confers with other institutions regarding information on transfer of credits.
Develops and maintains procedures and policy handbooks for transfer admissions.
Coordinates with academic departments with 2+2 (transfer) plans to provide check sheets and updates transfer concerns with students and advisers by liaising with on-and off-campus constituencies. Develop and maintain a close working relationship with individuals, departments and organizations on-campus as well as with various constituencies off-campus, especially community college officials.
Assist in coordinating special events at assigned community college and offer guidance to transfer admission counselors related to special events at local community colleges.
Assist in the planning and development of various recruitment materials designed to attract transfer students to A&M-SA.
Serves as a resource for transfer Admissions Counselors.
Provides regular trainings to admission counselors and the on-campus community as it relates to transfer admissions. Complies with all State and University Policies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Necessary Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in higher education administration or a related field.
Necessary Qualifications: Three years of admissions, advising, or other related higher education experience.
Experience in preparing and conducting presentations.
Preferred Qualifications: One year of higher education transfer experience. Admissions experience in recruiting, transfer advising, or financial aid. Experience working with non-traditional students. Demonstrated advanced experience using Microsoft Suite and client databases.
