Duties: The Graduate Group in Applied Mathematics and Computational Science of the University of Pennsylvania offers a full graduate program in mathematics, conferring the degrees of Master of Arts (M.A.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). The educational aim of this program is to provide well-rounded training for careers in research, teaching or industrial work in which advanced mathematics, or large scale computation is used in an essential way. The Graduate Coordinator will provide administrative support for the AMCS program pertaining to graduate student affairs, events management, graduate personnel matters, such as recruitment, and acting as main office representative for the AMCS program. The Graduate Coordinator will work closely with faculty from a wide range of academic disciplines to ensure the smooth running of the program.

Provide broad-based administrative support for the Applied Mathematics & Computational Science (AMCS) program. Assist the Graduate Chair in running the Graduate program. Coordinate graduate students' records which includes ensuring students complete all requirements necessary to obtain the Ph.D. degree or Master's degree in a timely manner. Monitor student progress and maintain internal Milestone Chart. Assist with graduate admissions by working with the Graduation Admission Committee and the online application program. Maintain and update AMCS webpages. Work with Department Administrator in Mathematics to ensure AMCS graduate students fulfill teaching requirements. Act as a representative of the program and respond to email and phone inquiries pertaining to graduate students affairs, events management and for all visitors to the graduate program. Assist with other duties as assigned for faculty members and graduate students. Coordinate AMCS colloquium.

Qualifications: A High School Diploma and 5 years to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred. Experience working in an academic setting and experience with Graduate Funding and SRS is preferred.
