Duties: The Gene Therapy Program (GTP) and Orphan Disease Center (ODC) are entering a new era of unprecedented opportunity with the great potential to reshape the face of medicine as we know it. Our discoveries have set the stage for successful treatments and possibly even cures for devastating genetic diseases. Our R&D organization has a translational infrastructure that includes: technology development, specialized Immunology assays operating under GLP, a Vector Core/Manufacturing unit that conducts GMP comparable work, and a large nonclinical program for animal testing under GLP including large NHP and rodent vivaria.

We are currently looking for Senior Research Investigator (SRI), Immunology, investigate adverse immune responses in clinical candidates and determine remediation strategy.

As an SRI, Translational Research, you will use data that is generated by our GLP Immunology Testing core to determine your hypothesis and develop a plan to solve the immune issues presenting with the clinical candidate due to the gene therapy. You will be working in the setting of interdisciplinary teams, where you will function independently in the execution of the experiments but will need to work collaboratively with other team members. Working independently, you will perform design, optimization, and implementation of complex experiments in specified timelines. You will provide cross-organizational support for the essential laboratory functions, including efficient management of laboratory resources, and participation in maintenance of centralized reagents; contribute to writing/reviewing manuscripts, preparing presentations, establishing collaborations as well as writing/reviewing protocols and SOPs.

Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience after the completion of the Ph.D. degree in the field of immunology, molecular biology, gene therapy, or related fields required.
Experience working with T Cell Immunology strongly preferred.
Experience working with the following techniques is required: elispot, intracellular cytokine staining, epitope mapping, tissue culture
Experience with Transcription Analysis preferred
Experience in gene therapy preferred but not required.
Must thrive in a team environment, be an independent/critical thinker, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to prioritize/multitask in a fast-paced environment.
