The Robert M. Berne Cardiovascular Research Center at the University of Virginia seeks a Research Associate to conduct sophisticated molecular and cellular studies identifying mechanisms underlying weightlifting-induced muscle and metabolic adaptations as well as cardiac benefits. Studies will include determining the role of satellite cells, mTOR signaling and autophagy in these adaptations.
Applicants must have a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree by the start date as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. Eligibility for NIH post-doctoral fellowship funding is important, but not required and candidate selected will be expected to write an AHA grant for next cycle.
