Assistant Director of International Admissions
Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Campus Admissions, the Assistant Director maintains overall responsibility for all activities related to the recruitment of University Campus students within assigned geographic territory.

Note: Position may either be regionally-based on the East Coast, or based on the University Campus in Florida. Territory requires overnight travel.
- Territory Management: formulates travel, telephone and email communication plan for inquirer to enrollment in support of overall goals for first year students.
- Recruiting and Counseling Prospective Students: develops strong working relationships with prospective students, including parents/family members; exercises independent judgment in evaluating students as potential candidates for admission with particular emphasis on academic preparation. Ensures outstanding admissions experience through first term registration processes for undergraduate students.
- Ensures smooth transition between Admissions Counselors and Student Advocates.
- Info Sessions: conducts presentations to prospective students and their parents/families. Work collaboratively within admissions and across campus to ensure that enrollment objectives are achieved.
- Admission Travel: 8-10 weeks of admission-related travel in the fall and 3-5 weeks in the spring/summer may be required.
- Application File Review: reading applications, recommending students for review by Admission Committee. Must exercise good judgment regarding the academic, personal and co-curricular qualities Saint Leo University desires in its student body.
- Communication: initiate tracked and documented telephone / email contact with prospective students and applicants to ensure that prospective and admitted students receive personal verbal and written communication. Document each telephone and email contact. Outstanding speaking, writing and listening skills are required.
- Collaborate all internal and external activates with the Operations, Marketing, and Campus Visit teams.
- Event programming: participates in planning, implementing, and communicating details of on and off-campus events for the Office of Admission
- Social networking: participates in social networking initiatives for the Office of Admission.
- Financial Aid: develop expertise in describing Saint Leo University's merit scholarships and financial aid awarding policies and practices, and ensure the highest level of service and accuracy with families.
- Confidentiality: must safeguard the confidentiality of student, staff and University information by exercising discretion in managing records and communication with faculty, staff, parents, alumni and current and prospective students.
- Professionalism: must demonstrate the highest professional demeanor and ethical behavior.
- Admission staff members are expected to remain current regarding external market conditions and best practices.
- Additional Responsibilities: Performs other duties as assigned, including oversight of particular projects, targeted prospective student groups, liaison activities within and outside of the university, etc.
- Ensure compliance with all Saint Leo policies and all federal, state and accreditation requirements.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of Saint Leo University's mission, services, policies and procedures.
- Extensive knowledge of a liberal arts college environment and undergraduate admission.
- Knowledge of student recruitment software, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to describe University programs and campus culture.
- The ability to articulate the value and benefits of a liberal arts education to a variety of audiences.
- The ability to work independently as well as establish and maintain collegial relations with other University staff, faculty and students.
- The ability to work collaboratively as a member of a close and integrated team of admissions professionals.
- The ability to plan, organize and implement programs and projects related to the University's enrollment goals.
- Technology skills to support territory management, daily contact with students, faculty, staff and others, and to support the goals and mission of the University.
- An appreciation for high school and college-age students and the varied nature and expectations of serving that population
- Flexible work schedule required; overnight travel, evening and weekend work required.
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Proficiency with MS Office and Customer Relationship Management software.
- Prior college recruitment experience.
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel by air, train and car.
- Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- Lifting of 25-35 lb. rolling carriers and boxes of recruitment materials.
- Standing and sitting for long periods of time.
- Extensive phone work and email keying.
- Travel by auto, train and plane.
