At Stony Brook Medicine, an Associate Director in Strategic Analytics is a valuable member of our team, who provides administrative and executive support and has the ability to interface with all levels of management throughout the hospital.



Duties of an Associate Director in Strategic Analytics may include the following but are not limited to:

  • Oversees creation of hospital-wide service line margin analyses
  • Understands data feeds from source systems and ensures data integrity of the McKesson Decision Support system by overseeing auditing and reconciliation of data
  • Plays a key role in overseeing ongoing maintenance of the McKesson Performance Analytics cost accounting system
  • Oversees development of financial data needed for filing CON’s, various financial and statistical reports, and profit and loss reports
  • Identify opportunities for cost containment and revenue enhancement
  • Work with direct reports to develop success plans ensuring appropriate mentoring, coaching, and accountability for achieving goals.

Qualifications


Required: Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or related field. Minimum 5 years progressive supervisory and management experience. Minimum 3 years utilizing an automated hospital Decision Support/Cost Accounting System in an acute care setting (McKesson, Allscripts, MedAssets, etc). Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with external consultants, administrators, physicians, and employees at all levels of the organization. Self-motivated, highly organized professional with superior analytical and problem-solving skills. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office and DSS reporting tools. Exceptional presentation skills


Preferred: CPA or Masters degree in related field. Successfully implemented an automated Healthcare Decision Support/Cost Accounting System. Decision Support/Cost Accounting/Financial Planning experience at an academic medical center or teaching hospital. Prior experience utilizing McKesson Performance Analytics. Ability to work independently while handling multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent follow-up skills. In depth knowledge of hospital financial analysis, cost accounting, financial planning, strategic and business development issues. Experience creating complex feasibility studies and ROI analyses. Broad understanding of the changing healthcare finance environment.
