Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

The University of Wisconsin-Madison (Department of Mechanical Engineering) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the field of high-fidelity simulation of chemically reacting flows. Desired areas of specialization include (but are not limited to):
1. Development and/or knowledgeable exercise of advanced numerical methods applied to combustion and turbulent reacting flows.
2. High-Performance Computing for computational fluid dynamics.

A successful candidate will be expected to develop and direct a funded research program; supervise graduate and undergraduate student research; develop, adapt, and teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses within the Mechanical Engineering curriculum and participate in faculty governance and public service.

Candidates will have demonstrated potential in scholarship, teaching, and research in one of the indicated areas. An outstanding ability to conduct collaborative externally funded research and a strong aptitude for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels are required.



Position Summary:

Teaching and developing undergraduate and graduate courses; supervising graduate student research; developing and directing a strong funded research program; participating in departmental and university faculty governance; and contributing to professional and public service.
