The Department of Family Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine is a multifaceted, interdisciplinary team of dedicated healthcare providers and researchers who are committed to providing excellence in clinical care, primary care education, and research. Through innovative curricular designs, early clinical experiences, and mentorship, the Department is focused on producing highly competent, caring, and compassionate Family Medicine physicians, helping reduce the shortage of primary care physicians in our Texas communities.

Position Details
UNT Health is seeking to hire a Clinic Service Representative for the Seminary Care Clinic. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

* Ensures that patient flow occurs in an efficient manner, taking into consideration appointment times, types and physician workload.
* Ensures that insurance benefits are verified and documented appropriately.
* Answer incoming telephone calls. Take accurate and concise messages and route to appropriate staff (doctors, nurses, residents, student and administrative staff) using both EMR and manual.
* Ensures that patient demographics are obtained from new patients and updated at each subsequent visit and review insurance card.
* Check-In/Check-Out in OAS Gold and EHR
* Accurately schedule, reschedule, no show and cancel patient appointments based on departmental protocol. Insure appropriate amount of time is given for the appointment type. Insure patient appointment cards are accurate. Daily appointment reminders to patients via phone.
* Proper notification sent to specialty so insurance and benefits can be verified. Make appointment for patients referred into practice. Contact patient by phone or mail with appointment information and instructions. Review 2-3 days prior to appointment. Review schedules to determine which patients would not have to be sent a new patient packet and follow departmental protocol to insure providers receive the historical information to allow for proper assessment of care.
* Communication on a regular basis with providers regarding plan of action for the "no show" or "rescheduled appointments". Responsible for mailing out "no show" letters and keeping track in both Gold and EHR regarding "no shows".
* Ensure patients are contacted, scheduled and rescheduled in a timely manner. Check to make sure new patient and established patient appointments are not overbooked and scheduled for appropriate amount of time.
* Monitor tasks, faxes, correspondences, insurance verification and other duties that must be done regardless of staffing shortages to insure patient care is seamless.

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:

High school diploma or GED and three (3) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Ability to comply with the directions of supervisor, management and provider.
* Outpatient clinical administrative experience.
* Knowledge of managed care, computer systems and automated patient appointment systems.
