Nature of Work:
The Administrative Support works in a team environment at the Center for Adult Learners and Veterans reception desk on the Carrollton campus and is responsible for answering incoming calls and assisting students from diverse backgrounds, academic abilities, and intellectual interests. This job involves being able to multi-task comfortably with the phone and computer while working under deadlines. The successful candidate will perform monthly budget reconciliation for the department, purchase supplies for the office, and secure room reservations. This position also is responsible for the recruitment, training, and supervision of the student assistants who work in reception.
High school diploma or GED; at least two (2) years of experience in an office environment and/or experience providing customer service in retail or hospitality management; ability to work as an effective part of the departmental, divisional, and university teams; clear enunciation; basic computer skills; successful completion of a skills test to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel; attention to detail. The applicant must pass a credit check for pCard responsibilities.
Higher education experience in a student services environment; direct experience with Banner student information system; direct experience with SSC-Campus (or GradesFirst); experience using PeopleSoft Financial Management; knowledge of GI Bill benefits and the documents needed to certify enrollment for US Department of Veterans Affairs education benefits.
Salary $14.48/hrly (minimum) to $17.85/hrly (midpoint)
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds. The applicant must pass a credit check for pCard responsibilities.
